Marvel at the beauty of flowers with strange names in Mu Cang Chai

Coming to Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai), visitors will be amazed by the majestic mountains, the beauty of terraced fields and the purity of wild flowers.

Coming to Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai), visitors will be amazed by the majestic mountains, the beauty of terraced fields and the purity of wild flowers.

According to the Mong people here, To Day is a wild flower belonging to the peach blossom family, often called "Pang ta day" which translates into Vietnamese as "wild peach blossom". This flower has only five pink petals with long pistils, blooming in clusters.

The time when the flowers bloom, dyeing the mountain peaks pink lasts from mid-December to the end of January. This flower is like a symbol signaling spring, signaling a new crop for the Mong people in the highlands of Mu Cang Chai.

The shimmering flower clusters blooming under the Spring sunlight create a beautiful natural picture on the land of Mu Cang Chai. The flower grows naturally in the communes of Nam Khat, Pung Luong or De Xu Phinh, of which the place with the most thick stalks is La Pan Tan commune (Mu Cang Chai district).

Along with its pure beauty, the To Day tree also has the effect of protecting and greening bare land and bare hills.

When the To Day flower blooms, it is also the time when Hmong boys and girls dress up in new dresses and travel together in Spring. To Day flowers are planted around their homes by people in the highlands of Mu Cang Chai.
